Future Claims Representatives
Represented Future Claims Representatives in the ASARCO, LLC (mining, processing and sale of asbestos and asbestos products through subsidiaries) and Clemtex, Inc. (sale and use of silica) bankruptcies, in which tort claimants held claims against the debtors exceeding one billion dollars.
Debtors We have confirmed numerous Plans of Reorganization in Chapter 11 cases and assisted our clients in restructuring their debt out of court as well. We have a broad range of industry experience including the following:
- Retail – including a regional grocery store chain, the largest dealer of John Deere heavy equipment, a large regional nursery and a national young woman’s fashion chain;
- Manufacturing – our clients have included a manufacturer of highly engineered injection molded plastics parts for the medical and appliance industry with global operations, a manufacturer and distributor of children’s “plush toys” and the largest manufacturer of “MRE’s” for the U.S. Military;
- Media – We have represented a suburban newspaper company operating in Texas and Ohio and advertising companies;
- Real Estate – the firm has represented real estate developers and owners involved in every phase of real estate development from raw land to developed property to income generating property.
Unsecured Creditors’ Committees
We have been selected to serve as counsel to the Unsecured Creditors’ Committees in cases such as McGinnis Hedge Funds, a group of hedge funds with significant investments in Russia, Healthcare International – a publicly traded health care provider with a chain of mental health hospitals and rehabilitation centers; and Quantum Southwest Medical – a health care provider network of more than 1,500 providers with 34,000 enrollees.
Trustees
Our attorneys have served as the Chapter 11 Trustee in bankruptcy cases on occasion, and more frequently have represented trustees in fulfilling their obligations to creditors under the Bankruptcy Code.
Secured Creditors
We have represented Secured Lender Groups in the Chapter 11 proceedings of Al Copeland Enterprises, Inc. (Church’s Fried Chicken and Popeye’s Fried Chicken), Border Steel, Commonwealth Oil and Refining Company, and National Benevolent Association, among many others.
Landlord Representations
