Neck-Borshard Co-Chairs Fundraiser to Benefit Special Olympics

Molly Neck-Borshard, an associate in the Controversy Practice Group of Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison, and Tate, Inc., serves as a board member of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association (SAYLA) and served as co-chair for SAYLA’s 7th Annual Counselors and Cocktails event held on April 1, 2010, at The Sheraton Gunter Hotel.

The 2010 edition of Counselors and Cocktails raised over $3,000 to benefit Special Olympics Texas, which provides an opportunity for special needs participants to compete in a variety of athletic events.  “While planning the event was a great deal of work, the opportunity to raise money for such a great organization made it all worth while,” Neck-Borshard said.

As a board member, Neck-Borshard is responsible for overseeing SAYLA’s operation and maintaining its standing as the collective voice of San Antonio’s young lawyers.  SAYLA also represents an opportunity for young lawyers to create life-long professional relationships.  “SAYLA provides initial networking opportunities for young lawyers,” said Neck-Borshard.  “The relationships forged through SAYLA help form the foundation of the cohesiveness and collegiality that defines the San Antonio Bar.”

When asked about Neck-Borshard’s level of involvement in SAYLA, Ray Battaglia, the firm’s Controversy Section practice leader said, “It’s great to have a young lawyer take such a leadership role among her peers.  We think her involvement is a sign of great things to come.”

Neck-Borshard joined the Firm in 2008 and her practice focuses on commercial litigation.
