Mason Named One of SA’s Forty Under 40

Laura C. Mason, a shareholder in the Corporate & Securities practice group of Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison and Tate, Inc. has been selected as one of San Antonio’s Forty Under 40 for 2009. The annual awards program which is produced by the San Antonio Business Journal recognizes the next generation of young leaders and innovators, such as Mason, who have already made their mark professionally and in the community.

Mason is recognized as a leader among her peers. In 2009, Mason was named for the seventh consecutive year as a Texas Rising Star by Law & Politics and the publishers of Texas Monthly magazine. She also received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, in addition to being honored by Scene in SA Monthly magazine for the fourth time as a Rising Star in the Best Lawyers in SA program. In 2006, Mason received the prestigious Belva Lockwood Outstanding Young Lawyer award from the Bexar County Women’s Bar Foundation.

Mason joined the Firm in 2002.   Her corporate practice includes representing start-up and closely held businesses, forming and restructuring of various corporate entities, advising clients with respect to the state and federal tax consequences of business operations and entity selections, and representing companies and individuals in corporate transactions, including asset purchases and sales, mergers, and acquisitions.
