Firm’s Litigation Team Sees Continued Growth in 2009

During the summer of 2009 Oppenheimer Blend made a move to increase the size of its litigation team by hiring David Ortega as a Shareholder-Elect. The move, which was the result of the firm’s desire to broaden the scope of its litigation expertise, was followed up by two additional Litigation hires. The team expansion, which took place in the last quarter of 2009, included Forrest “Teo” Seger, III - a first year Associate and Elsa Garza -a paralegal with twenty-seven (27) years of legal experience. The firm is pleased to have both Teo and Elsa join its legal team.

Forrest ‘Teo’ M. Seger, III
In its continued commitment to providing top-notch legal services to its clients, Oppenheimer Blend is pleased to announce that Forrest ‘Teo’ Seger, III has joined the firm as an Associate in its Litigation Practice Group. Teo was a participant in the firm’s 2008 Summer Associate Program.

A native of Skidmore, Texas, Teo received his JD from the University of Texas School of Law in 2009. Prior to law school, Teo attended Texas Lutheran University where he received a degree in Political Science.

“While I really like the close-knit family feel of OBHT, the quality of client service was the biggest draw for me,” said Seger. “Teo’s attitude and attention to detail make him a great addition to our firm, and we’re excited to have him onboard,” added Ray Battaglia, head of the firm’s controversy section.

In his spare time, Teo enjoys watching UT football (which he admits he takes too seriously) and spending time on his family’s ranch in Skidmore.

Elsa Garza
Elsa was born, raised and educated in San Antonio. She began her legal career as a receptionist for Hope, Henderson, Hohman, Georges and quickly became the firm bookkeeper, legal assistant and office manager. She continued her career with various San Antonio law firms and solo practioners.

Elsa has always been drawn to litigation. When asked what attracted her most she stated, “I consider going to trial the icing on the cake. But being able to take a case from beginning to end is where you gain the greatest sense of accomplishment.”

She has been married for 28 years and has two children, Joseph Anthony who attends San Antonio College and Sara Elizabeth who is a sophomore at Providence Catholic. Elsa and her husband, Otto, volunteer for Central Catholic and Providence by running the concessions for the athletic events.

In her spare time Elsa serves on the Board of Directors of the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association as the legal assistant director and historian. She is quick to point out that she does have outside interests not related to law. Elsa has always been fascinated by sign language, first taking classes while at college, and hopes to one day earn her certification for sign language interpretation.
