Building Leaders Who Make A Difference

Leadership development is a key component to business success because it works to address current and future needs of an organization. Knowing the importance of this fact Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison and Tate, Inc. annually selects team members to participate in two well known community leadership development programs in order to heighten their leadership skills and business savvy.
W. Richey Wyatt, a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, is a member of the 2009 class of Leadership San Antonio, and Edward A. (Ean) Niland, an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Securities and Health Care Law Practice Groups, is a member of the 2009 class of Leadership Lab.
The Leadership San Antonio program is jointly sponsored by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The highly selective program is in its thirty-fourth year and gives participants an in-depth understanding of the promises and challenges facing San Antonio.
The Leadership Lab program is celebrating its tenth anniversary in San Antonio. The program is sponsored by the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Over a nine month period participants are offered leadership development and work-force preparedness training using the most current thinking, research and best practices in leadership development focusing on five core elements including: professional performance, leadership, management, community service and self-awareness.
The firm has a long history of participation with both programs. Martin I. Roos, the leader of the firm’s Estate Planning & Probate Practice Group, and Debra Innocenti, an associate in the firm’s Creditor’s Rights & Bankruptcy Practice Group, are both Leadership San Antonio graduates. Additionally, Debra has participated as a member of the Steering Committee for two subsequent Leadership San Antonio classes. James M. (Jim) McNeel, the leader of the firm’s Trust & Estate Litigation Group, Mark M. Murphy, an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, and Maria Barrett, the firm’s Marketing Director, are all graduates of the Leadership Lab program. Maria has also served as the Chair-Elect and Chair of two subsequent Leadership Lab classes.
Building strong leaders who in turn inspire others to reach new heights is what it is all about and pleased to do our part to support our team members and our city.
