Ten of Our Nation's Best Are Right Here
Ten of the firm’s attorneys were named to the 2010 edition of Best Lawyers® in America - the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. The firm also ranked for the second year in a row as San Antonio’s #1 Health Care Practice.
First published in 1983, Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive annual peer-review survey. More than 24,126 leading U.S. attorneys cast more than 2.8 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in the same or related specialties. Because of the rigorous and transparent methodology used by Best Lawyers, inclusion is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.” Steven Naifeh, Managing Editor of Best Lawyers, says, “We continue to believe – as we have for the last 26 years – that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of recognition in the legal profession.”
Two of the firm’s shareholders – Stanley Blend and John H. Tate, II – have been named to the list annually for more than 25 years. Reese Harrison, Jr. has been selected for more than 20 years while Ray Battaglia, Taylor Boone, and David Oppenheimer have made the list more than 10 times. The firm’s CEO, Bruce Mitchell, Kathleen Quiroz – practice group leader for Oppenheimer Blend’s Health Care practice, Elizabeth Copeland and David Stanush were also named to the 2010 list.
