Cassia's practice focuses on transactional and regulatory aspects of business and health care law for health care providers and life sciences companies, including biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies.
Cassia assists health care providers with corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, employment agreements, and lease agreements, as well as general contractual and corporate matters. She also advises health care providers regarding health care regulatory matters, such as state and federal fraud and abuse, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute issues, clinical research, HIPAA, reimbursement, and licensing.
Cassia assists life sciences companies with transactional and regulatory matters relating to research and development, including negotiation of clinical trial agreements, informed consents, confidentiality agreements, licensing agreements, development and consulting services agreements and clinical supply agreements. Her expertise also includes assisting these companies with transactional and regulatory matters relating to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing, supply and distribution, including clinical and commercial manufacturing agreements, quality agreements, development services agreements, and commercial supply agreements.
In addition, she advises clients in connection with federal and state laws and industry guidance regulating the interactions between health care providers and both pharmaceutical companies and medical device companies.
Prior to joining our firm, Cassia was an Associate in the Life Sciences Health Industry Group of Reed Smith, LLP, in Washington, D.C.
